With the success of Black Myth: Wukong and a new generation of parents who grew up playing video games, China has leveled up its understanding of gaming. But traditional stigmas surrounding gaming may still be hard to break. We had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Felania Mengfei Liu, a game scholar at Beijing Normal University and the curator of the Homo Ludens Archive—the first and only game archive center in China—about the importance of game literacy for both social good and personal growth.
