Chinese Pupil’s Addiction to Cigarette Cards Draws Concerns

Collecting cigarette cards has become the latest craze among Chinese schoolchildren. These cards are used in a game where opponents try to flip each other’s cards over. Some kids would rummage through trash cans and even secretly buy cigarettes just to get their hands on rare and expensive packages.

With China already home to nearly one-third of the world’s smokers, many parents and teachers are concerned that the trend could become a gateway to underage smoking.
