On Thursday, April 8th, The World of Chinese will join forces with Spittoon Book Club and Sinoist Books to bring author Li Juan live in conversation in Beijing.

The event is focused on Li Juan's latest book Distant Sunflower Fields, translated into English by Christopher Payne.

We encourage you to read the book in advance (English edition available on JD.com) and join our book discussion at 7 p.m. At 8 p.m., Li Juan will join us live from Xinjiang, and you will have the opportunity to ask your questions to the author. The Q&A will include questions from the live audience in Beijing and others watching on Zoom. The author will share her insights in both Chinese and English.

There will be goodies! We will raffle a free copy of Distant Sunflower Fields, as well as several copies of the latest issue of The World of Chinese magazine and Spittoon Literary Magazine
